The south of France is affected by several major fires. In Marseille, the fire, now "contained," broke out Tuesday afternoon after a car caught fire on the motorway. Firefighters are also battling blazes in the Hérault department, between Agde and Sète, and in the Gard department.
Several major fires are hitting the south of France, particularly in Marseille, where hundreds of hectares of vegetation have burned in the immediate vicinity of the Phocaean city. The fire, which reached the northern districts of the city, was "contained" this Wednesday. The fire that broke out near Narbonne in the Aude department was also contained.
On Tuesday, another fire broke out in Hérault, around the towns of Castelnau-de-Guers and Montagnac.
